TE KUITI METHODIST CHURCH.

SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. The second anniversary of thi3 institution was held on Sunday and Monday last. The special preacher for the occasion was the Rev. J. Olphert, recently appointed tq the Te Awamutu circuit. In spite of threatening weather on Sunday, gtiod congregations assembled, and were treated to discourses of a very high order. The afternoon service was attended by the Prestyerian, and Congregational Sunday schools, and was a most inspiring one. The evening service was alao of a very encouraging nauture.

On Monaay t.be annual tea meeting was held, about 200 sitting down to an excellent repast. The following ladies were in charge of the tables:— Mesdames Wilton, Nicholls, M. William?, Guy, Daniel and Wooles, and Misses Thomas, Nicholls, Daniel and Warwick. Taia function was followed by the annual meeting. The Mayor presided over a crowned audience. Addresses were delivered by the Revs. Olphert, Griffiths and Beattie, and the chairman. Recitations Were given by Effie Higgp, Eva Legg.Alvina Luaera, and Eva Pitzputrick. At the close of the programme the prizes were distributed to the children by the Mayor, and a very pleasant meeting was brought to a close by the Doxology. At all the services special hymns were sung by the children, assisted' by an augmented choir : and a small orchestra consisting of Messrs Mcintosh, M. lie Jfetit, I. McNaught, Peackenharo and J. Wilkinson. Miss Nicholls officiated at the organ. Solos were rendered by Mrs Haughey, Miss H. Daniel, and Mr S. V. Smerdon. a trio hy Eva Fitzpatrick.Alvina Luders and Jim Daniel, and a duet in the Fijian 'angtiage by Miss Small and the Rev. R. B. Gos'nell. Too much praise cannot bp. given to the conductor. Mr I. Armstrong, for the excellent way in which the musical items •were rendered. The children especially showed signs of careful and thorough training. During the meeting the secretary, Mr S. T. Nicholls, read the annual report of the school's working.
