At last meeting of the Borough Council the Mayor said that Mr G. McDonald had complained to him concerning his electric light installation. He had no meter and he had been billed for a sum of £2 8a for work from which other individuals were receiving benefit. Mr Bartley, electrical engineer, said Mr McDonald would get a meter as soon as one came to hand. The explanation as to the charge of £2 8a waa that the amount represented Telegraph Department charges for the line of the telegraph pole in connection with Mr McDonald's premises. From the same connection other people were connected temporarily, as at the time there were no mains in Rora street. When the mains were put in the temporary connections «vere discontinued.
