FAT STOCK SALES
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report-!: — On Wednesday fat stock was yarded in average supply, and prices were scarcely on a par with last week's quotations. Best oxen sold to to 30s Gd per 1001b, others 27s to 295, cows and heifers 25s to 28s, pair 1001b, steers at from £6 10s to £l3 17s Gd, cows and heifers £4 10s to £8 7s 6d. Veal calvea came forward in larger numbers, and prices were a Ehade lower than late sales. Heavy
sealers sold at from £3 10s to £4
18s, medium weights £2 to £3 3s, lighter 20s to 38s, smaller 15a to 20s, fresh-dropped 3s to 12s 6d. Sheap came foward in average supply and advance in prices from Is to 2s per head on last week's rates. Best wethers sold at from 2<ls 6d to 273 Gd. others 19s Gd to 235, heavy ewes 17s 9d to 225, others 15s 3d to 17s 6d. Lambs were penned in larger numbers than usual, ar.d sold well Best quality made 15s 6d to 17s 9d, others 10a 6d to 15s 3d. Pigs came forward in larger eupply and sold well. Baconers sold at from £3 to £3 15s, largs porker* £2 10s to £3, porkers 30s to 48a, slips 15a to 225, weanera 8s to 12s 6d.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows:—A poor entry of prime bullocks and sheep came forward, and sold realily at late rates. Prime heavy bullocks £l2 7s Gd to £l2 17a 6d, prime bullocks £l2 to £l2 2s 6d, prime vealers 34s to 445, light 20s to 21s fid, prime wethers 21s sd, prime ewes 18s to 18s lOd, prime heavy ewes 19s lOd, prime lambs 17s to 17s sd, lighter 15s 9d.
