George Mitcfaali, the EncHsh aniateur who offered Garpentier £2OO for a match in private, was beaten in the first round, but he won a wager that he would remain in the ring longer than Wells. Ha showed great pluck, and was knocked down four times by hard jaw punches before his seconds threw in the towel. Th 3 bout lasted 95 seconds.
