FOURTEEN BODIES RECOVERED?
Received This Day, 9.5 a.m. New York, Friday; Fourteen persons are known to bft killed and four, injured, one in the fire at a five-storey tenement. Firemen searching the wreckage announced that fourteen bodies hsd been recovered, among them a woman with a babe in her arms. Several are missing. The bodies are so badly charred as t6 render identification almost impossible. The fire started in the basement of a five and ten cent, store, which occupied tha first floor, and spread rapidly up the stairway. Many occupants of apartment houses' escaped by the fire escapes.
