At the Mayoral dinner last night the councillor? presented the Mayor, Mr Merpyn Wells, with a handsome silver cradle, in commemoration cf tbe birth of a son during the term of his office. The proceedings were very enthusiastic.

The Mayor agreed to accept nomination for another term. He will probably be unopposed.
