BOWLING.

The local bawling green is in excellent condition just now, and the rinks are playing better than at any time during the season. On Friday a pairs tournament i* to be held by 'the Te Kuiti Club, and a very interesting competition should eventuate. All players desiring to take part in the tournament are requested to be on the green at 9 o'clock on Friday morning. The Te Kuiti team entered for the Cambridge tournament will leave on Friday morning for the seese of action, and arrive in time to take part in the opening games on Friday afternoon. The combination, which consists of Stevens, Rowel!, Steel, and Boles, is a fairly strong one, and with average luck, should do credit to the club. In a trial "go" with Dransfield, Walsh, Power, and Williams this week, the touring team shaped very well and scored a win.

A team of dowlers from Taumarunui is to visit Te Kuiti on Saturday and an enjoyable day's play should result, providing the weather is propitious. The visitors will arrive by the ten o'clock train and there will be time for a game before luncheon. The local Dlayers will be considerably weakened by the absence of the players at the Cambridge tournament, but there should be a sufficient number of fair performers to give the visitors a good game.
