AFRICAN LABOUR LEADERS.
REPEAL OF BANISHMENT. URGED BY LABOUR CONFERENCE. By Telegraph..—Press Association.—Copyxigiit Received this day, 9 a.m. London, Tuesday. A joint Labour Conference determined to send a deputation to the Premier and the Colonial Secretary to urge the repeal of the banishment of the deported South African labour leaders. Messrs Ramsay Mac Donald and Seddon ware appointed to personally memorialise Mr Botha, and a resolution was carried to establish a deporteds' defence fund. A delegate 'announced that writs had been issued again3t the owners of the steamer Umgeni.
NEW LABOUR BILL. Capetown, Tuesday. The new Labour Bill fellows the lines of the abandoned measure, but omits the special provisions for the preservation of public safety in times of emergency. It provides for deportation for high treason, sediton, violence, and incitement thereto.
