SHOULD THE WORKERS ARM?

Mr J H. Thomas, Labour member for Derby, announced in the House of Commons yesterday that 40,000 men had notified the railway companies that they were ceasing work in November unless conditions be bettered in the meantime.
If he followed the Opposition policy he would advise (hose men to provide themseves with arms : and ammunition.
Mr J. I. Amery, discussing the Army crisis, said that Colonel Seely wilh characteristic optimism, assured the Government that it might always reckon on the Army as a blind tool for any crime which it meant to perpetrate. The Paris Figaro conceives it possible for the King to refuse his signature to the Home Rule Bill, with the result that the socialists would secure a majority and declare a republic.
