HEAVY RAIN AT GISBORNE.
♦ WASHOUTS ON RAILWAY. BRIDGE CARRIED AWAY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Gisborne, This Day. It has been raining steadily for the past three days, and all the rivers and creeks are flooded. Several washouts have occurred on the railway line, and the temporary railway bridge over the Waipoi river has been washed away. At Motu seven inches of rain fell in 2 hours.
