FREEZING WORK', PROJECT.
The Editor. Sir, The proposal of freezing works in the Wuikato which has been affirmed and the promised support and co-operation of settlers iri the King Country once tnore points out the absolute necessity of goud roading communication between the back country districts and the railway. It behoves all loi.-al bodies to use every available part of their machinery to assist settlers in this vital question. It should also tend to make the newlyformed county o E Awakino stick c|o3sr together anJ allow no splitting up, in order that the continuation of the metalling schemes being carried out by the Waitomo County to the Marokopa district on the coast, via Mangaohae and Waitomo can be carried out by the Awakino Council, thus conpleting a rosding system that would be of immense benefit to large numbers ot settlers, and a huge tract -if country. "AI! together, boye," must be the motto. —I am, etc., PROGRESS.
