The High Commissioner's market report, dflted London, March 21st, is as fo'.loWß, quotations, unless . otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot: — Mutton.-—The market is weaker, though priceß are not actually lower. North Island 4£d per lb. The <leroand has been chiefly fur light weight, which sold as high as 4 7-8 d per lb; heavy weights 4 l-Bd. Lamb.— Ths market is weaker and has a tendency downward on account of large supplies coming forward. The weather lately has been unfavour able to the sale of lamb. There has been but little demand for Canterbury, as buyers prefer North Island at the lower prices. Canterbury's two's per lb 3-Bd, heavy weights 6 l-Bd. Beef.—The market is very dull. Supplies of American chilled beef are large, New Zealand hindquarters per lb 4*d, fores 3 7-Bd. Chilled hinds 4 7 Bd, fores 3|d. Butter.—The market is dull and prices are irregular. New Zealand butter stocks have accumulated lately, and holders are disposed to meet buyers at lowsr prices, as present supplies exceed requirements. Danish in fair demand per cwt. 122s to 1245; New Zealand slow of sale 109s to 112s unsalted; 116s to 118s; Australian market tjuiet 106s to 110s; Argentine market dull 104s to 108s; Siberian market steady 108s to 110s. Cheese. The market ia steady, with Pair business. The Canadian supply is running r.nort and holders are firm. There is fair demand for New Zealand cheese and the market is steadier. Canadian white per cwt 68s to 70s, coloured 70s to 71s. New Zealand finest white 62s to 62s 6d, exceptionally fina 635, fine 61s to 61s 6d, finest coloured 64s 6d to 655, fine 639 to 63s 6d. Australian white 62s to 62s 6d, coloured 63s to 65a.
