The Eree Churches Council at Norwich passed a resolution favouring a world conference to secure closer union of the free churches, also insisting on a more rigid Sunday observance, and condemning the War Office's encouragement of Sunday rifle practices. During an important discussion on "The Church and the Child" several speakers declared that the results of Protestant methods of dealing with the religious training of the young compared unfavourably with the Roman Catbolc system.
