HUNGRY ISLANDERS.
SUPPLIES SHORT AT PITCAIRN. By Telegraph—Press Association.— Copyright Received this day, 8.55 a.m. Sydney, This Day. The American barque, Afonlaw, reports that when off Pitcairn Island, two boats containing 34 islanders, came aboard and reported they were short of bread and other commodities. They obtained a supply and also cloth ing in exchange for poultry, vegetables and fruit. The islanders reported all well at Pitcairn. A gale destroyed the plantations some time ago, but they *ere recovering from the effects.
