THE NEWSPAPER CAMPAIGN RUSSIAN ARMY EQUIPMENT.

The newspapers unanimously refuse to be intimidated by the Austro-Ger-man press campaign. They recall that Germany set tbe example 01 increasing military strength. Sazanoff states there ia no ground for the present excitement. The relations between Russia and Austria are excellent though they were Btrained in 1913.
The semi-official Bourse Gazette says Russia in the event of war will qo longer act on the defensive, but henceforward aßSume tbe offensive. The fortifications have been completed, and the officers' standard raised, while (he artillery in many respects excells that of France or Germany. Other branches, including aviation, are highly efficient
