FREEZING WORKS FOR WAIKATO.
THE PROJECT AFFIRMED. There were a couple of hundred farmers and others present at the King's Theatre, Hamilton, on Thursday morning to consider the establishment of freezing workß in Waikato. Mr Thomas Hinton presided. Mr Ambury, acting chairman of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company denied that he stated at Matamata last week that the promoters were in the hands of the American beef trusts. He also gave a denial to the statement that preference of space was given to Auckland firms at the Auckland works.
After a lengthy discussion the principle of establishing a freezing worxs in Waikato was affirmed, and the following committee to go into the question of the establishment was set up: —Messrs E. Goodwin, Hamilton; Livingstone, Cambridge; Sommerville, Okoroire; Milne, Rukuhia; R. M. Somerville.Te Kuiti; D. Ross,Awakino; R, Clephame, Rangiri; S. Jackßon, Pio Pio; G B Whyte, Morrinsville; P. Paulson, Waingaro; J. McGregor, Taupiri.
