A DETECTIVE FIRED AT.

[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Titnaru, Thursday.

The two Burnbam boys, who escaped last night from gaol, are still at large. Detective Fahey, when on the beaih two mil.es south of Timaru, sighted one on the top of a cliff. The boyhad a revolver, and he fired two siiots at the detective. When the officer reached the cliff top, however, the boy was not to be seen. There is much rough country near the coast for Borne miles south of Timaru. MATE STILL AT LARGE. Timaru, This Day. Wilson, one of the boys who escaped from gaol two nights ago, was captured at noon yesterday. His mate is supposed to have gone further south.
