Own Correspondent. The recent rains have greatly benefitted this district. The turnip crops have been brought on and are now looking healthy and well, while the grass growth is even better than it was in spring. As a result the supply to the dairy factory is keeping up remarkably well and is justifying the expectations of those who anticipated a record season. The standard of the output is also being well maintained, and the tests are such that the chances of a celebration at the° end of the season are excellent. Several of the settlers of this district bad exhibits at the Show and did well wich them. Messrs Petch Bros.. McKenzie, and Bevege being among the number. Matters in the tcwnship are progressing and improvements arc being steadily proceeded with. Ihe contractor for the doctor's residence is getting the material on the ground preparatory to starting the building, and other additional buildings are talked of. The annual picnic held by the settlers of the Mairoa will take plcae on Tuesday, March 17th. The committee in charge extend a cordial invitation to all residents in the King Country to participate in the picnic.
