Tha New Zealand Loan and Mercantile aa Agency Company, Limited, reports: At Westfield yarda on Wednesdayfat cattle came forward in average suoply, and showed an improvement in price on last week's rates, best oxen selling to 31b per 1001b, others 27s tu 30s, cow i and heifers 24s to 28s, steers from £8 to £l2 12s 6d, cows and heifers £4 to £8 15s. Veal calves were penned in average numbers and sold at late rates, medium weight vealers selling to £3, lighter 30s to £2 15s, others 20s to 30s, smaller and tresb-dropped 3? to 15s. Sheep were yarded scarcely in average num hers, and sold at last week's rates. Best wethers sold from 22b 3d to 3s 9d, others 18s to 21s 9d, inferior fatted 15s 6d to 17s 9d, heavy ewes 18s to 21s 9d, others 13s 6d to 16s 9d. Lambs, in full supply, sold well, best leaning 15s 3d to 17s 9d, others lis 6d to 14s 9d. Pigs came forward in usual numbers, and sold it full late rates, baconers selling to £3 Bs, large porkers £2 5s to £2 17s. por kers 30s to 425, slips 20s to 265. The Kaitieke stock sale was held on Tuesday. Nearly 5000 sheep were yarded, and there was a good attendance of outside buyers. Almost without exception every line was quitted, either under the hammer or by private purchase the sale, at very satisfactory pric =s. Fat and forward wethers sold at 13s 9d to 15s 2d, store cattle at £3 16s, ewes 12s 9d, a line of 300 lambs 9s each.
