' DIVERTING A STREAM
An endeavour is to be made on the part of the property owners interested to divert the atream which runs) down King street, and eventually find* its Way into the river behind the Waitomo County Council Chambers. The proposal ia to have largo concrete pipes laid straight down King street with the outlet at the bridge. This Would allow the old water course, which intersects several sections in Boca street and Taupiri street, to he ireclaismad ulK i converted into valuable property. As a preliminary to a domuto •scheme a deputation consisting of Messrs Hacket, Young, Lover and (Langafcono waited on the Works Committee of the Borough Council luMt •night and introduced the matter, Which will form the subject of a deputation to the next general council •meeting.
