KIRITEHERE-MOEATOA.
Own Correspondent. After years of persistent agitation the telephone line between Moeatoa and Mangaohae is to be completed at an early date. The line was pegged out last week, and it is to be anticipated that the work of erection will be commenced in about three weeks' time. It is needless to say that j33ttlers are jubilant that the line is to be completed at last as the connection with Te Kuiti has been long and eagerly Bought after. A settlement of the roading question would bring considerable relief and put settlers on a fair way to commence to receive the reward of ten years of hard pioneering work. The Ts Kuiti Chamber of Commerce has been of great assistance to us in the matter of getting direct telephone communication with their town. Mr E. C. Stanley, Marokopa, gave a dance and supper on January 16th, in celebration of the opening of hiß new store, which was a great success.
