NURSES IN OUT DISTRICTS.
- QUESTION OF PAYMENT. At the mpeting of the Waikato Hospital Board on Thursday last, some discussion took place with regard to districfreaterniiy nursts in connection with an application fur attendance from a district where no purse wa l available, and in connection with which it was agreed to reply that the lady would require to make her own arrangements. With regard to payment of fees, the secretary reported that, omy two sums had been received, both from Kawhia. Mr Shaw complained that many people who had been attended were too ready to get their nursing done on the cheap, they being well able to pay something. He thought that instead of paying these nurses a salary they should subsidise them for going to these districts. He gave notice oE a motion for next meeting that this change be made, and that a scale of charges be drawn up. A motion hy Mi Scholes to apply to the department for a nurse to fill Nurse Smith's place was agreed to,
