ARIA.

Own Correspondents Tbe usual monthly meeting of the Aria Dairy Company was held last Saturday. There were present— Messrs I. J. Riddle, chairman, J. Collins, P. D. Smyth, Gee. Melson, S. Riddle, Geo. Petrie, the manager and secretary. ' Mr Shields, through ill-health made worse by the atrocious wet weather of late, was reluctantly compelled to relinquish his contract for carting the cream from Paraheka, but fortunately Mr Barrett was able to make an agreement with the board of directors to continue the work. Mr Buckman had commenced to deliver the cream from the Totoio Valley settlers, but found he still had a good deal to battle against in the condition of the roads in cer tain parts. Communication had been received from Mr Massey relative to certain Crown lands which he Baid he would do his best to throw open to the public for settlement. Messrs Weddell and Co. had been notified that the company had sold the remainder of the season's output at Hid. The cream wa3 coming forward in increased quantities and new shares were still being taken up. The' weather the paßt month has been very unseasonable. Almost every night it has rained hard, and many days have been so wet as to prevent all outside work. The road contrac tore have therefore been much delayed aa have also the sawmillerß. Without doubt the rain haß helped the growth of grass and been suitable for the sowing of turnips, but still half the quantity would have been equally sa effective. With, a continuance of this a bush burn will be as much out ol the question as it was two years ago. Usually, too, before thia time of year the roads have taken up for the summer, but at the present they are as much in the quagmire stage as they are in winter time. Even the main road is causing serious inconvenience, and broken and disabled waggon 3 are too often met with. The Aria Cricket Club seems to have commenced on a sure founds tion and the members are showing much enthusiasm. The dance in connection with it was a great success, as was also the picnic. A match is to be played <vith the Pio Pio club on Saturday (to-day).
