WAIKATO HOSPITAL BOARD.
The usual monthly meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board was held at Hamilton on Thursday when the following matters affecting the Kinc; Country were dealt with: — Te Kuiti Nurse. Dr Will. To Kuiti, wrote to the effect that District Nurse Smith was suffering from a breakdown in health, and would not be able to resume duty for some months. ■ — It was agreed, on the motion of Mr Keeley, seconded by Mr Finch, to pay the salary of Nurse Smith, whose resignation was accepted at last meeting, (o the end of the term. —Mr Boddie said she had had a most trying experience in the backblocks and it was agreed to Rend Nurse Smith an appreciation of her services Taumarunui Hospital.—The return for October showed receipts amount ing to £ll 6s; total number of patients treated, 1(5: number in hospital on last day of month, (5. For November the receipts from patients amounted to £l7 lis. There were 12 fresh cases during the month, making a total of IS treated, number in hospital last day of month, 6. Pio Pio Doctor's Residence.—The following tenders for the erection of a doctor's residence at Pio Pio were forwarded by Mr James Jones, architect, Te Kuiti:—K. L. Birch £532 12s 6d c L. Williamson £562 10s, J? R. Smith £565, Gough and Vause £575, W. Fulierton £599, Woods and Tisch £640. Mr Jones recommended that the I lowest offer, Mr Birch's, be accepted. I —The architect's recommendation was adopted.
