TE KUITI SWIMMING CLUB.

A meeting of the above club was heJd in the Chronicle office last evening, when a fair number attended. ! The following were elected to the ! variouß positions:—President. Mr J. ! Boddie; vice-president?. Messrs A. j Julian, N. C Matthew. Mostyn Jones, j Power. Drs Will. Norman, and Mal.be- ! son: captain, Mr W. G. Wnkelin: vice-captain, Mr W. M. Keece; trustees, Messrs N. C. Matthew and Cowan; committee, Messrs Cowan, Burgess, Murphy. Slane, and F. Matthews; secretary and treasurer, position to be filled next meeting. The annual subscription was fixed at 2s 6d for adults and hoys under 16 Is, school children free. Bathing hou'-s same as last year.

Matters of a virions description were discussed, including a ladies' club, and the advisability of an official opening of the season during the Christmas holidays. The committee hope that all swimmers will join the club and assist in forwarding the objects the club is formed for.

During' the season the captain will give lessons in life-saving and the restoration of the apparently drowned. The next meeting, which will he open to all members and intending members will he held in the Chronicle office next Friday evenim: r;t S o'clock.
