HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLE. Wellington, Monday. The High Commissioner's eabie, dated London, November 29th, is as follows, quotations, unless otherwise specified, being average market prices on spot:— Mutton.—The market is steady, but the deand 'is only moderate. Prices are firm because supplies will be retarded on account of the strike. Canterbury mutton is not quoted. North Island 43d. Lamb.—The market is firm. Canterbury twos s|d, and as high as 5Ad for a very few selected lines. Many carcases of stale lamb are being placed on the market. Beef.—The market is firm. New Zealand hindquarters 4|d, fores S|d. Chilled hinds 4ld fores 4d. Butter.—The market is steady, and prices are well maintained. There is no change to report in Danish, Siberian, and Argentine. Australian 118s to 1245, New Zealand 126s to 128s. The present price of salted butter is 2s below market price for unaslted Cheese.—The market is quiet but firm. Canadian white 65s to 68s, coloured 66s to 67e; New Zealand white 84s to 655, coloured 65s to 65b 6d: Australian 60? to 635. There is no change of prices for English or Dutch Cheddars. Wool.—The market remains firm. Coarse crossbred 3 of all grades are eeling at r prices equal to those of last sales rates. The market for tops is unchanged. 36' a low crossbreds 15|d, 40' a medium crossbreds i'od, 50's halbxreds 19d, 56's quarterbreds 21jd. 60's merinos 27d.
