The membership of the new Wharf Labourers' Union is now reported to be over 600, and includes 32 members ' of the old union, A crew ha? been obtained for the Maori, which resumes running tonight, releasing the Mapourika, which re-enters the Nelson service. The Drivers' Union held a secret ballot on the question of remaining on strike. It was decided by 287 to 3b not to return until the establishment of more normal conditions. Thero are now over forty memberß of the new Drivers' Union, Many proprietors are seen driving expresses, "including Mr Fletcher, chairman jf che Harbour Board. Arrangements have been made to get shipments of coal from Japan unless the New Zealand minei re-open shortly The Plasterers' and Painters' Unions held meetings and decided to reject the call of the Federation to down tools.
