DEATH AT MAPARA.

THE INQUEST. An inquest was held at the Courthouse, Te Kuiti, on Saturday night before Mr J. Boddie, coroner, concerning the death of Martin Lee, who died suddenly at Te Mapara on Firday. Dr Will said he made.a post mortem examination of the body and found the man di»d of pneumonia. Thet6 were no suspiciouß circumstances; pneumonia frequently proved fatal within 48 hours particularly if not atteondeed to. Deceased probabiy had old standing lung trouble. T. Kelly said he had come to Te Kuiti from Matiere with deceased for sale day on Thursday. Deceased'was a bush contractor, living n<»ar Matiere. Witness and ueceased were taking cattle back, and when near the twelve-mile peg on the Awakino road deceased asked witness to hold hiß horse as he wbb feeling unwell. They reached Mr Daniels house, and deceased went to bed. He told witness not to send for a doctor; he would be all right in the morning. Deceased was apparently better during the night, but between four and five o"clock the Saturday morning he was dead. Deceased bad been given a little hot whisky. He was a very temperate man. John Joseph Peacock, a farmer living at Otangiwai, who acccompanied deceased to and from Te Kuiti, gave corroborative evidence. A verdict in accordance with the medical testimony was returned by the jury.
