Own Correspondent. The usual monthly meeting of the dairy company was held on Saturday. There were present Mesrss C. J. Riddle (chairman), S. Riddle, J. Collins, Towhshend G. F. Nelson, G. W. | Petrie, and secretary and manager, j Messrs Melbr and Shields waited on ; the meeting and asked assistance to purchase waggons for the cartage of cream "from MoSiauiti, Tangitu and Paraheka. Suitable arrangement; were made with each. It was re-| solved to consign the season's output through Messrs Weddel and Co,, with the right to sell outright at any time if it was thought advisable. Several new intending suppliers applied for shares, and for particulars re the purchase of necessaries. The Pio Pio Dairy Company announced their intention to foster the bacon pig industrv, but expressed the opinion that the supply this year would be small as the farmers were not ready. A hearty vote of thanks was unanimously passed to Mr G. F. Nelson for the energy and interest displayed in the company's interests. It was resolved to pay out IOJd per lb for butter fat for the past month, and probably a special bonus later. Attention was drawn to the e :istenceof Crown and native land within easy reach of the factory which could be purchased for closer settlement. The secretary was instructed to direct the attention of the Govrenment to this and ask that steps be taken immediately to throw it open to those looking for land. The manager reported that at the present time the output was treble that for the corresponding period of last year. SCHOOL COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Aria School Committee was heid on Saturday. There were present Messrs G. F. Nelson (chairman), J. Collins, S. Riddle and Geo. Petrie (hon. sec.) Correspondence was read from the Board of Education and the Director of Technical Instruction. The latter in reply said it was necessry to have the class in agriculture recognised, and that all subscriptions to earn subsidies mußt be paid into the Board's account. It was resolved to leave the subsidy question in the hands of the roaster and eecretary. Accounts amounting to £3 4s 6d were passed for payment.
