HANGATIKI.
Own Correspondent.
On Wednesday evening last a very pleasant gathering took place at "Springfield," the residence of Mr and Mrs Hambrook, who have recently disposed of their farm and will soon be leaving the district. Quite a large number of neighbours and friends assembled and a most enoyable evening was spent. Dancing and singing were indulged in at intervals. Music was pjovided by Messrs Lipscombe (piano), G. -Bartley (violin) and R. Bartley (flute). Songs were rendered by Misses M. Farrell «nd Z. Bartley, and Messrs Berry and C. Board. Mr Scholes, on behalf of Hangatiki friends, presented Mr and Mrs Hambrook with an electro-plate tea service, and in an appropriate speech referred to the esteem in which they are held in the district and wished them every them good wish for their future happiness and prosperity. The singing of Auld Lang Syne and three hearty cheers for Mr and Mrs Hambrcok, brought a merry evening to a close.
