The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency reports:—At Westfield yards on Wednesday, fat cattle were yarded in average numbers, and sold at late quotations, although the market was firmer. Best oxen sold to 33s per 1001b, others 29s to 325, cows and heifers 27s to 30s, steers sold at from £7 10s to £lB 10s, cows and heifers £4 10s to £lO 17s 6d. A draft of steers from Messrs Cotter Bros., Te Kuiti, sold at from £ll 2s 6d 1o £lB 10s. Veal cßlves came forward in good numbers, and again sold at high values. Heavy vealers sold at from £4 to £5 9s, medium weights £2 18s to £3 15s, lighter 30s to 455, smaller and fresh-dropped 4s to 21s. Sheep were penned in full numbers, and sold at fully last week's rates. wethers sold at from 29s to 32s 91, others 243 to 28s Gd, heavy ewes 26a to 29s 6d, others 20s to 25s 3d, hoggels sharply advanced in prices, best quality 24s 6d to 30s, otherß 17s 6d to 23s 9d spring lambß were yarded in more than average numbere, best selling from 17s fid to 21s 3d, others 13s Gd to 17s. Pigs were penned in less numbers than usual, and advanced in prices. Baconers sold a*. £3 10s to £4 ss, large porkers £2 12s to £3 ss, porkers &2 to £2 10s, 3lip3 21s to 28s, weaners 16a to 18s each.
