THE OHURA RAILWAY.
OKAHU TUNNEL CONTRACT. | A TENDER ACCEPTED. : Li pursuance 01 the Government's intention of pushing on with the railway from the Main Trunk line, a tender for the construction of the Okahu tunnel between Te Koura and Matiere has been accepted. The successful tenderer is Mr William Forrest, of Auckland, and the price ig £97,000. The unsuccessful tenderers were as follows: —McMullen, Waipawa, £104,881; Spencer, Blair and Co., Wellington, £106,176; Jennings and Rasmussen, Auckland. £109,490; Moody, Auckland, £135.581; Adams, Auckland, £146,482.
