EMPRESS PICTURES. "A Clue to Her Parentage.'—Another of the "Mary" eories, in which Mary goes to America, and has afi a cabin mate an adventuress, who is in love with a young officer no board the boat. He transfers his attentions to Mary, arousing the woman's anger. She slips a valuable bracelet into Mary's trunk and accuses her of stealing it. Mary iB unable to explain to the customs official how she came by it and is arrested. But at thiß minute Nell Benson, the woman, appears with a distinguished gentleman who takes charge of the cbbb. He takes Mary with him to a great mansion and informs her that this will be her home henceforth. He refuses to tell her more about her family except point to a portrait on the wall which he tells her is that of her mother. The wanderer haa found a home and a memory of a mother. _J POLITE VAUDEVILLE. Next Tuesday evening at-the Town Hall, Mr V. M. Beebe's Polite Vaudeville Company will entertain the public of Te Kuiti, adding to reputation enjoyed by the company for supplying good wholesome and delightful items. The company has met with unprecedented success wherever they have appeared and a crowded house should welcome the combination next Tuesday. "THE NIGHT SIDE OF LONDON." In all the citieß of the world there is a large section of the public that thoroughly enjoys good melodrama, and consequently the production by George Marlow'a new dramatic company at the Town Hall, Te Kuiti, on Wednesday evening next, should be succeß3ful in all rsspects. "The Night Side of London," has stood the teat of the proas and public criticism in London and all the Australian centres, so that Now Zealand theatre goers will have an opportunity of seeing a drama that has been eminently successful elsewhere. "The Night Side of London" contains plenty of thrilling incidents and dramatic sensations, while then- is an excellent leavening of comedy. There are four acts, and numerous scenes, including a view of nil Knjsliah village at Closeminster, a view of :i London street by night with the i--n<>w falling.
