GOLF.
The driving competitions held under the auspices of the Te Kuiti Golf Club on Saturday provided keen interest among members of both sexes. The day was beautifully fine, but theTe was a breeze agaiiist the compelitors and the ground was sodden from recent rains. The result was that the drives in the majority of instances finished where the ball landed on the ground. Good form was shown in the ladies' competition by Ml' 3 Mostyn Jones, "who won with a drive or 110 ! yards and Mis Cory Matthew. v.'s:o was runner up with a drive "f im» yards. The men's competition proved r, close thing between several of the competitors. Wallace. IGS yards, being tn<winner, Markav !">7 yards second, and Spring 154 yards third.
