A meeting of the Loyal Te Kuiti Lode,'e, was held on Tuesday evening last,' N.G. Bro. Cook presiding over a fair attendance, and the usual lodge business was transacted. During the evening the jewel which was presented°by the District Lodge for competition between all members of the district and to be given to the member gaining the largest number of new members to the Order, was presented to the winner, P.G. Bro. Rutherford by P.G, Bro. Barker, who, in a nice little speech, referred to the many good qualities of and good work done for the lodge by Bro. Rutherford. Bro. Rutherfurd suitably replied, and in doing so mentioned that he was not the only one"who had done gocd work for the lodge, and also said that any work, he bad done for hi 3 fellow brethren was done willingly. Euchre was indulged in after lodge, the V.G's. side proving the winners.
