Mrs Pankhurst was wheeled on to the stage of the Pavilion and addressed a crowded meeting lying in a hath chair. She said there still'was a secret reserve fund but she appealed for subscriptions to meat current ex-
penses. Mr 3 Pankhurst's license was sue tioned for £IOO.
Two suffragettes attempted to petition the King on his way to Goodwood. They were arrested but were released in few minutes by the King's order?.

The Home Office is satisfied with the result of the ' cat and mouse act." Only twentv-one persons have been dealt with under it, compared with 2200 previous charges against suffragettes.
Sympathisers with suffragettes in Holioway marched from an East end meeting armed with sticks and stones. They arrived at the prison gates nearly at midnight and demanded Miss Kenney's release. The police scattered the demonstrators, who scaled the prison fences on the opposite 3ide. The police patrolled the precincts for the remainder of the night. Two w omen who took part in this demonstration were sentenced to two months, and a man to four months" imprisonment. The release of Mr Laurence. Lady Sybil Smith, and Miss, Sharp was due to the magistrate revising the committments. YOUTHFUL SUFFRAGETTES PROTEST. TWO SHOTS FIRED. Received this day, 9.30. London, Tuesday. A suffragette East end youths' meeting at Hollow.iy last night, protested against Miss Kenney's rearrest. Several climbed the fence and smished the governor's windows. Two shots were fired. Several have been arrested.
