LAND BALLOT.
At .the Taianaki District Lands Office on Thursday, a ballot took place for 725 acres on iand wiiic'n has been opened up for selection in the Taranaki land district on the optional system, either for occupation with right of purchase, ol- i'or renewable lease. The land is comprised in four sections, two beinu in iha Waitomo County and the other two in the Ohura County. A general description of the sections has already been published. Following was the result of the ballot: — Section 11, block Vv'aicorao County, Aria survey district, comprising- 42 acres.—One applicant, S. Martin. Section 3, block 15, Ohura Couniy, Ohura survey district, comprising oSS acres.—No applicants. Land still open for selection. Section (3, block 5, Waitotno County, Totoro survey district, comprising 164 acres —Nine applicants. Sucaessful applicant, G. Fulcher. Section 6, block !), Ohura County, Tangitu survey district, comprising 1-59 acres. —Five applicants. Successful applicant, W. 0. Irvine.
