TE KUITI DEBATING SOCIETY.
Th= usual weekly meeting of the Te Kuiti Debating Society was held on Thursday evening, but after the tiansaction of formal business the sittting was adjourned. It was pointed out that the absence of the Speaker rendered it necessary to appoint a Deputy-Speaker, and Mr A. E. Robinson was unanimously voted to the position. Alter the adjournment of the House the detail work in connection with the forthcoming breach of promis* case was transacted, the various parts being assigned to witnesses and others. Everything has now been arranged in connection with the trial. A celebrated legal authority has been appointed judge, and the full strength of the local bar has been er gaged.
