Newton King reports: — At Stoney River on Wednesday I h ad a good entry with a representative attendance. There was an improved demand for all classes yearlings, cows and steers selling well, a good clearance being,made as follows: —Nice line of Shorthorn yearling heifers bred by Mr A. Gray £2 15s, ottiers good with colour £2 6s to £3, good coloured pens of Shorthorn yearling steers sold very readily at £2 10a and £2 13s, smaller yearlings 31s to 34s Cd, aged store cows 33s to 40s, store cows £3 2s to £3 18s, forward

On Thursday, notwitstanding the very rough day there was a very large attendance at VVarea for Mr McDonald's clearing sale. The herd of cows were nnatly right into the Ayrshire, hui some of them carried rather much age. Competition was good throughout, excellent prices being obtained, the herd of cows, which besides the aged cows contained a lot of small second calvcrs, averaged £7 15s.
