In the Auckland district there were last year 18,804 new depositors, and a total of 753,303. At the end of the year the amount at credit was £2,962,194, or an average per account of £39 6s. The details for Christchurch shjwed that 10728 new accounts were opened for the year, and 7563 closed, leaving 70,699 open at the end of the period. The amount at credit was £2,562,701, and the average depositor was £26 5s The figures for the Dunedin district showed 7615 new depositors, j and a total at the end of the period of 51,155 with £2,240,745, at credit or an average sum of £43 16s Id.
