ST. JOHN'S AMBULANCE CLUB.

TE KUITI BRANCH FORMED. A meeting for the purpose of forming a branch of the St. John's Ambulance Association at Te Kuiti was held in the Municipal Chambers last night. Mr J. R. Graham, member of the Borough Council, presided in the unavoidable absence of the Mayor, and there was a fair attendance including a numner of ladiet?. Drs Zobel and Mcßae were also in attendance, and Dr Will sent a message of apology for his absence. The chairman outlined the objects of the meeting, and indicated the amount of assistance the Borough Coancil was prepared to give, in fitting up the ambulance room at the Fire Brigade station. ' . , x . Dr Zobel outlined the objects of the association and advocated the formation of a branch. Dr Mcßae said he trusted the branch would be formed. The medical men 'were all keen in promoting the branch, and he trusted full advantage would be taken of the opportunity to learn the work. ... . . The chairman said it should not be forgotten that in addition to the instruction in bandaging and first aid, the broader question of nursing and sanitation was included in the class work. On the motion of Mr Holland and the Rev. Mr Griffiths, it was unanimously resolved that a branch of the Association be formed. The Rev. S. Griffiths was appointed secretary pro tem. The following officers were elected: Patron, his Worship the Mayor, Mr J. Boddie; president, Mr R. is. Somerville; vicepresidents, Messrs J. R. Graham, C. Stevens, N. C. Matthew, F. B. Darrow, Rev. E. S. Wayne, A. F. Howarth, G. P. Finlay, H. Hine, Nurse Hattaway and Mrs Zobel; treasurer, Mr Duff; auditor, Mr Waklyn; secretary, Mr Holland.
