This afternoon the new Legislative Councillors nominated by the Masßey Administration were sworn in. The appointees are: Sir William Russell Mr G. W. Nicoll Mr John Duthie Mr C. A. C. Hardy Mr Wm. Earnshaw The appointments are limited to live in number, and the Government has endeavoured in a way to spread wide the interests represented, while at the same time bringing back into political life old friends who have through do feat or other causes retired trom active noiitcis.
