BIBLE IN SCHOOLS LEAGUE.

i A meeting composed of representaj lives from Te Kuiti and Oturohonga | was held last Saturday morning in the Luke's Parish Hall, To K"iti for ths purpose of hearing Mr C. W. Strachey, organising secretary for the Auckland Province, Tho Rev. E. S. Wayne introduced the speaker, who, in the course of his address, outlined the history of the movement the large place it is at present occupying in the thoueht of this Dominion. Various objections to the platform of the league were effectively replied to, and the main work of the league at present shown to be organisation in the interests of obtaining a referendum at the nestt poll. The speaker would like to see an executive committee established for the organisation of the Taumarunui electorate, with Te Kuiti as headquarters. After further discussiun the meeting decidud to form an electoral committee. An election of officers was then held, with the following result: President, Rev. E. S. Wayne; vice-presidents, all the ministera of the Protestant churches in the electorate; secretary, Rev. A. Armstrong; treasurer, Mr Warmington. It was decided to establish branch leagues wherever possible, and that work in the interests of the movement be commenced locally at once.
