TE KUITI BOWLING CLUB.
A special general meeting of the above club was held in the Chronicle Office on Thursday evening. Mr C. Stevens presided. Mr Stevens explained the reason why the meeting had been called, namely, to discuss rules 18 and 16. The firßt bearing on the date for holding the annual meeting, the second dealing with the payment of subscriptions. Mr Power moved: —"That by-law No. 18, bearing on the time of holding the annual meeting be rescinded, and that a new by-law be inserted to read aB follows: —'That the annual meeting be held one month after the official closing of the! green." In moving this Mr Power stated he thought it advisable to hold the annual meeting when the interest in the club was keen. Mr Walsh seconded the motion, which, after general discussion, was carried. The alteration of by-law 16 brought forward a large amount of general I discussion, and on the motion of Messrs M. J. Jones and Dransfield, it was resolved —"That the annual subscription shall be two guineas for the bowling club, and one guinea for the croquet club, and shall be due and payable on the official opening day in each year; and any member failing to pay the same within one month hereinafter shall not be allowed to be on the green or vote, but such disqualification shall not release him from his pecuniary obligations and liabilities as a member." On the motion of Messrs Power and Matthew, it was resolved that the annual meeting be held in the Waitomo County Council office on Friday, June 13th, at 8 p.m.
