DISTRICT REQUIREMENTS.
The following letters in reference to requirements in the district have been received by Mr C. K. Wilson, member for the district from the Minister-in-charge of the Department's affected: — HANGATIKI STATION.
"I am in receipt of your letter of the 13th inst. urrging that a verandah be provided at the Hangatiki railway station. In reply I may say that your repesentations in this matter are noted and will receive consideration —W. H. HERRIES." POMERANGI ROAD.
"Referring to the letter which you forwarded me from Mr Ongley, of Mangaohae, Te Kuiti, who urges that the above should be formed along his frontage, have to advise you that the whole of the vote for this road, £2OO, has been authorised, and four contracts, covering 108 chains of widening which are now in hand, will absorb the whole of the available money under the authority issued to the Resident Engineer and from thirds. In view of the representations made, 1 have, however, approved of the issue of a further £SO in anticipation of next year's vote, and this will be expended in conjunction with the sum of £57 12b sd, which, I understand, will be available from thirds in the course of few weeks.— W. FRASER, Minister of Public Works."
