THE STRANDED INDRABARAH.

CHANCES OF RE-FLOATING. SHIPPING MEN SANGUINE. Conflicting views are held regarding the chances of the steamer being got off the shore. Shipping people are Ranguine. Mr M. A. Elliott, of Palmerston North, the Manawatu agent of the Tyser Company, has received a reassuring message from Wellington, stating that Captain Daniels, marine superintendent for the Union Company, is very hopeful that the li ler will be saved, her position not being as bad as it might appear, The present intention is to obtain the services of a large steamer, and make an attempt next Tuesday to refloat the vessel. On that day the spring tides are due. As soon as the weather moderates sufficiently, the first measures towards refloating will be taken in hand by those aboard. This will be the work of getting her anchors out to seaward. She must be lightened by the removal of her cargo, which consists of kauri gum, flax, tallow, woo!, cheese, pelts, and mutton. With the exception of the mutton, the cargo can be removed without damage. There is some talk of the steamer Muritai being taken to the scene for the purpose of receiving the cargo. Wellington, This Day. Mr Arch. Walker, Lloyds' surveyor, returned from the Indrabarah yesterday. He is of opinion the vessel is not too far in to allow of refloating operations being sucesfully accomplished on top of high water. The ship is on the move, and if three mushrooms anchors are got out she can be got off, says Mr Walker.
