FIRE BRIGADE CONCERT,

Those who appreciate a really good concert should not fail to be present at the Town Hall, Te Kuiti, on Thurs day evening, May 22nd. The proceeds of the entertainment are to go towards the accident and general funds of the Fire Brigade, which lact alone should ensure a bumper house. The programme is a comprehensive one, including songs, duets, recitations, pianoforte solos, violin solos, sailor's bornpipe, etc The charges for admissioon are most reasonable, namely, 2a T'reserved seats, Is unreserved. The concert is being held under the patronage of the mayor and councillors, and the chairman and members of the school committee. The chair will be occupied by Mr R. M. Somerville, chairman Fire Prevention Committee.

ROMAN CATHOLIC SOCIAL. A grand social and progressive euchre party in aid of the Roman Catholic Church building fund was held in the Town all last night. There was an excellent attendance, and the function proved an unqualified success During the evening Bongs were contributed by Mrs Clark and Mi as | Sheehan. and Messrs Dodge and Jephson. The music was supplied by Miss White and Mr Christian piano), and Mr Sowry (cornet.) The euchre games gave ri 3e to keen competition, and considerable interest was attached to the finals.
