' The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— On May 7ih we held a special sale of bullocks in the Te Kuiti yards, when we submitted as nice a yarding of cattle as we are likely to have this season. The cattle were all from King Country settlers and wera well bred and in forward condition. Out of a total of 825 head were 393 were about 18 months old, about 130 2& year old and the balance three, four, and five year old bullocks. There wa3 no bother to sell them; buyers were present requiring Bteers for turnip stocking, and as the bullocks were straight from the grower buyers bid freely, the larger and more forward the cattle the better the competition. £ll lus, very forward four and five year bullocks £8 5s to £9 16s, forward three and a half year steers £7 5s to £7 16s, fresh three year steers £6 5s to £7, fleshy two and a half year steers £5 16s to £6, two and a half year steers with less condition £5 to £5 7s 6d, two tooth wethers, well grown and in forward condition 16s Bd, small wethers 13s, cull lambs 6s. At the Ngaruawahia yards on May Bth we had an entry of 887 head of cattle and 2455 sheep. With the exception of 42 young cattle and 38 cows all were well bred steers two and a half years and upwards in forward condition. There was really good competition for all forward cattle and splendid prices were obtained. An entry of 175 Pteers from Mr Thos. Wilson, of Te Akau, were splendid cattle, nearly all killable as the average of £8 8s 6d will show. Fat and forward three and a half to four year steers made £8 to £9 3s, forward three and a half year steers £7 5s to £7 16s, fleshy three year steers £6 10s to £7 Is, two and a half year steers £4 19s to £5 12s, two and a half year steers not quite so forward £4 10s to £4 15s, fat cows £5 2s 6d to £7, store cows £3 5s to £3 12s, Well grown woolly lambs 10s to 31s, store empty ewes 5s to 8s 3d, fat wetherß 19s to 21s 3d, forward conditioned wethers 15s lOd to 16s 9d, store wethers 13s lOd.

Newton King reports:—On Wednesday 7th inst., for my Okau autumn sale there was a good entry of sheep and cattle and a large attendance of the public from al! parts. Competition throughout was good for nearly all lines, the whole entry, with the exception of two small lines of sheep, being cleared at the hammer at the following rates :—Weaner heifers 275, small mixed weaners 16s, store cows £3 to £3 17s, forward and fat cows £4 4s to £5 16s, empty eighteen months heifer's £3 5s to £3 15s. eighteen month to twenty month in calf heifers £4 Is, bulls £2 10a to £5 15s, eigh teen to twenty months steers £3 14s 6d, two year steers £4 6s 6d, two and a half year steers £4 18s, springing heifers £6 2s 6d, two, four and six tooth wethers 13s 2d, forward wethers 15s 3d, lamba 10s 3d to 7s 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: — We held our usual sale in the Hamil-

ton yard on Thursday, Bth inst., when we yarded 1589 sheep, 343 head of cattle, and 61 pigs. There was a good demand for all fat stock, but store stock was dull of sale, although we were successful in quitting most of the lines offered. We quote: Fat cows and heifers £5 17s to £6 12s 6d, forward empty cows £4 4s, store cows £2 10s to £3 Is, two to two and a half year steers £4 5s to £5, eighteen month steers £3 10s, eighteen month heifers in calf £3 9s, calves 20s to 375, springing heifers £5 10s to £6 7s 6d, fat wether* 16s to 19s 6d, fat ewes 14s to 16s lOd, fat lambs 12s to 13s, store lambs 7s lOd to 9s 4d, s.m. ewes in lamb 8s 6d, woolly lambs 10s Id, porkers £2 to £2 14b, weaner pigs 5b to 6s 6d.

New Zealand hinds 3§d, fores 3Jd. Butter.—Tha market is dull and declining, large supplies coming forward last month. Cheese.—The markefc'is lifeless, and transactions in cheese are very limited. Stock is accumulating, and some holders of cheese are forcing sales. New Zealand white 58s, coloured 56s 6d. Hemp.—The market is firmer, lower prices inducing business. New Zealand good fair £3l, fair £2B, all positions; fair current Manila £33 10s, forward shipment fair current Manila £34 The output from Manila during last week was 11,000 bales, and this week 18,000.
