Communion service will be held next Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church. There will also be the selection of elders at the close of the service. Rev. W. A viist of inspection will prove a pleasure, and no visitors are requested to buy. The shooting season starts on Thursday next, and Mr A E. Robinson, importer, of Te Kuiti, advertises that the best English made hand finished guns can be secured from his splendid Btocks. The reputation earned by Mr Robinson amongst sportmen for supplying goods true to name will be upheld during the coming Beason. In reply to a deputation at Te Kuiti on Friday night, the Prime Minister forecasted the abolition o f Maori Land Boards. Mr Massey said important native land legislation was in course of preparation which would materially improve the position in respect to the tenure of native township sections.
In connection with the Borough election to-day, the returning officer, Mr F. E. Lamb, has arranged that the counting of the votes wili bo undertaken in the office of the town clerk. The public will be glad to learn that the electric light is to be installed in Hotel's Hall during the present week, and the public will have the benefit of the installation at the performance by Hugard on Friday evening. The death took place on Sunday at Te Kuiti of a well-known Maori named Ratima Pekamu, who had con Biderable interests in the Aria district. Ratima had been ailing for some time, and his end was not unexpected. A tangi is now being held.

Owing to an unforeeen circumstance the committee in charge of the social and euchre party, which was to have taken place next Wednesday in the Town Hall, have decided to postpone the function until Friday, May 16th. The committee promises one of the most enjoyable evenings of the season, and arrangements for supplying good music have been completed.
