METHODIST CHURCH.

The quarterly meeting of the Methodist Church was held on Wednesday evening in the Municipal Hall, the Rev R B. Gosnell presiding over a good attendance of members. After the usual opening exercise* ar.d the confirmation of the minutes of the previous meeting, the business for the meeting was proceeded with. Notwithstanding several "rnovals from the district th 3 members' roll showed an increase, there being 44 senior members returned. This being the first quarterly meeting since the union of the Methodist and Primitive Churches, t:e office-bearers Eor the year were re-nominated by the minister and duly elected. Mr E. Hardman was appointed congregational sentative on the quarterly meeting, and Mr B. Mudgway elected a society steward. Notwithstanding the heavy addition connexional levies the bal-ance-sheet showed a credit balance for the quarter. The income for the quarter was £SB 10s 6d, the Te Kuiti returns being £29 13s The secretary • for the Sunday Bchools presented his teport showing that both schools were in a flourishing condition. In the le Kuiti school are 37 pupils and seven teachers, in the Mangaonno road school 13 scholars and two teachers. The meeting thanked the supennten dent, Mr Sheffield, the teachers and office bearers for their faithful and successful work. Letters of thanks were directed to be sent to Messrs Mudgway and Bollard for thejr services whilst here. For the purpose of helping with backblock work a mission preaching band was formed conlisting of Messrs G Smith Brockwav Hardman and ProudlocK.
